Driving down a bumpy dirt road, heading about half an hour or so into the desert wilderness, I suddenly felt like I couldn’t swallow. It was the first time it happened.
Over the next four years, I would experience this phenomenon – only here and there at first, then becoming an almost daily attack. I wondered if maybe I would pass out sometime, or not be able to breathe anymore.
In the beginning, I had prayed against it, repented, even went to the doctor to rule out any physical issues. Doctors examined me: nothing wrong. Bloodwork was done: nothing. Then I had one doctor tell me I was probably just suffering from anxiety. I told her, “I’m not anxious like that at all. In fact, I have Jesus, I pray, and I’m quite at peace.”
It got worse. So I tried other options. I changed my already careful diet, and I kept changing my diet … till I hardly ate anything. Seemed to help for a little bit, but then I’d be driving down the road and suddenly, it would happen again. My throat would almost lock up, I couldn’t swallow (or at least I felt like I couldn’t), then I felt like I couldn’t breathe and almost got a rushing feeling in my head.
I learned that if I chugged water, it seemed to make it subside. If I ate plain oats, dry, it also seemed to make it go down. Of course, I would pray, stay real calm, breathe slowly. After all that, it would go away. WOW! IT WAS STRANGE!!
It was so bizarre, I kept a container of dry oats in my truck, and I wouldn’t leave the house without a big jug of water, just in case it suddenly came on me.
I didn’t talk about it much. My wife knew. My kids knew, to a point.
I eventually told General Deborah what was happening with me. As I was explaining what I was experiencing, she immediately LAUNCHED into tongues – while I began to gag as demons left me! God began to speak through her prophetically. He basically told me the enemy was trying to kill me to prevent me from saying what I was supposed to say.
I’ll tell you this: I left there, healed. I drove home with no attack. I ate normally again. I stopped leaving tupperwares of oats in my car.
That was a long time ago.
I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ATTACK SINCE!!!
God delivered me. The demons are gone. I am walking in the spiritual and physical freedom that JESUS gave me that day. ALL GLORY, POWER, DOMINION, MIGHT, PRAISE AND THANKFULNESS BE TO MY GOD, JESUS CHRIST THE LORD, FOR EVER AND EVER!!! AMEN!
Afterthought:
This testimony glorifies Jesus and His ordination of anointed leadership. It’s a tragedy that the “Church” does not have good leadership, especially anointed leadership with spiritual discernment.
“And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues…” (1 Corinthians 12:28, ESV).*
“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,…” (Ephesians 4:11-12, ESV).**
Jesus puts His power through His anointed vessels – TO HELP PEOPLE. There are so many people in churches, ministries, on their own in this wicked world, who are suffering without deliverance. God wants to help people, especially Christians, so they can experience for themselves the power of casting out of demons. This world needs to know that only JESUS has that power! Then they can GLORIFY HIM and live their freed lives for Him. God delivers us to enable us to serve.
