2 Chronicles 16:9, NKJV — “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.”
2 Chronicles 16:9, ESV — “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him. You have done foolishly in this, for from now on you will have wars.”
2 Chronicles 16:9, NLT — “The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. What a fool you have been! From now on you will be at war.”
The “you” in verse 9 refers to King Asa, king of Judah. He was rebuked by Hanani, the prophet. “Because you have put your trust in the king of Aram instead of in the LORD…” (16:7).
The Scriptures declare that God and God alone can fight His own battles without the help of men. But He does use men and armies whenever He chooses.
Asa was a faithful king that served the Lord (15:16-19), nearly to the end. But Asa committed serious sins. It was in Asa’s final years that the King Bayasha of Israel invaded Judah (16:1). Asa was approached by the prophet, Hanani, and 2 Chronicles 16:7 records the conversation (and see vv. 8-9). The prophet was then thrown into prison by Asa for speaking on behalf of the Lord (v. 10).
What Asa did angered God. No matter the odds, the Lord could have delivered Judah without Aram’s army. This kind of thing has been played out over and over throughout the centuries.
At present, America finds itself in a dark and dire situation … with nuclear threats at hand, countries joining forces against the U.S., lethal weapons being supplied to enemy forces, nations threatening other nations, U.S. allies being threatened … more nukes being made, and on and on it goes. America, once foundationally dependent upon God’s help, is finding itself in a potential losing situation. Not only does America have outside enemies, but many enemies within as well. Communism is edging its way towards a takeover. Current U.S. leadership has been compromised by foreign nations. Yes, the current leadership is very much ANTI-American and CERTAINLY ANTICHRIST. Their aim is to “reset” America.
What of all those who oppose this? Some merely stand afar off and wring their hands in fear; others are vocal about things, but do very little more than talk. Then there are those who are aggressive, informative, and in your face, toe-to-toe. Some are Christians, some Patriots, some conservatives … all on the front lines in spiritual warfare, physical warfare, social warfare. War stands for Wage Aggressive Resistance. Resistance is the crucible of soldiering.
The Lord is searching the whole earth for those who will say, “Here am I, use me!” – then actually GO and DO what God wants.
With global crisis in full throttle, the Lord is raising up a people He can and will use as He sees fit. Unlike Asa who, in his time of trouble, was “helped” by the arm of flesh rather than his God. It did not go well with this king of Judah. Asa also got a disease in his feet and died. Feet equals the way one walks. Asa walked away from the Lord, not with him!
Jehoshaphat, Asa’s son, succeeded his father as king. He too was faced with Israel’s hostile enemy/pagan armies, which were kept at bay only because the Lord was with Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles 17:1-10). Turn to chapter 20 and read the prayer of Jehoshaphat (vv. 6-20).
Chapter 18 relates to us that Jehoshaphat had made an alliance with Israel (the southern Tribes of Israel). Israel’s King Ahab, and Jehoshaphat, clashed over the prophets who had been inquired of regarding war against Ramoth Gilead (18:5). Jehoshaphat didn’t believe Ahab’s prophets (the 400) and so inquired, “Is there not still a prophet of the Lord here [–there were 400 false prophets there!–] that we may inquire of him?” (2 Chronicles 18:6). Yes, there was one prophet of the Lord, but Ahab hated him (v. 7). This tells us a lot. Take the Church and the State, for example. They prefer false messengers and politicians, as opposed to genuine men and women of truth.
And may I give a warning here: While the present leadership in America relies upon the arm of flesh (and DEMONS!) to push their politically correct, WOKE, Communist, Socialist jargon … they do not hide the fact that they HATE those who tell the truth.
On the other side of things, with Conservatives, people must take heed that they do not deify any certain leader, putting any man (or woman) before and above God. While a certain man’s policies may be great for America, it does not change the fact that our first priority as people is to our God, the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Back to 20:6-12. Please take time to read Jehoshaphat’s prayer. He prayed to the Lord for help, along with all the people of Judah (20:3-5). This was after Ahab’s death, which had been prophesied by the true prophet of God (Micaiah). After some years, the armies of the Moabites, Ammonites, and others declared war on Jehoshaphat (20:1-2). Jehoshaphat did the right thing: he resolved to inquire of the Lord, not man.
This, my friend, is what we should be doing today. I know electing the right person for the right position is all part of politics, but we must always seek God first. Period! Look at the millions and billions spent on elections. Good men and women do win at times, while bad men and women do win also. Even if and when our favorite does not win, if we’ve NOT turned to man or woman above our God, we remain in right standing. Be careful not to worship men and women. Men and women love your praise and honor, but this unwarranted praise offends God.
People get upset at this because we do not belong to their party. We belong to the party of JESUS. This is not to say that we do not take elections seriously. We do. And we know an antichrist rules right now, and may rule again after the next election, if we continue in idolatry of men.
The people of Judah, along with Jehoshaphat, cried out, “If disaster comes upon us—sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine—we will stand before this temple and in Your presence (for Your name is in this temple), and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save” (2 Chronicles 20:9).
Friends, we need a national repentance first, then a prayer. We need to be saved from our national sins, not in our national sins! We do NOT need one more star – not in TV, music, movies, sports, or any other venue – to make a phony prayer while they are idolized and make millions of dollars $$. We don’t need a LGBTQ+ or WOKE weirdo to pray for us. We need to REPENT. Each of us! We need to REPENT and ask for God’s help in this takeover we are experiencing … this Communist coup.
We must stop our idolatry of people – people, places and things. We must humble our fool selves to God. This nation will never prosper unless we take action to revolution. The solution to this unGodly pollution is BLOODY REVOLUTION! The Blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin (Colossians 1:20; 1 Peter 1:19; 1 John 1:7; Revelation 12:11; et al.).
Praying to God helps us develop a holy reliance on God. It puts us in a humble position, rather than living in the mindset of “We are Americans, and we live in the greatest nation on Earth!” Really, how has all the pride worked out for us? America has become a third world nation, lawless and Godless. What our forefathers did (those who actually lived the Godly Life in Christ) is not good enough. We must live the Life!
How many hours do you spend on politics rather than being in communication with God? Do you suppose that all this WOKE takeover is not the result of our falling away from Christ? Ooohhhh, yeeaahh … I know people still use God’s Name, but I’m afraid it’s in vain! We have incurred the WRATH of God upon us.
Not all are guilty, but enough to bring down the WRATH!!
Let me give one more example. David. When the Philistines marched after King David, he and his men went to a place of refuge (2 Samuel 5:17-18). David did not send for help to the arm of flesh, but made a prayer: “David inquired of the Lord…” (v. 19). So the Lord heard his prayer and gave him victory over the enemies who were greater in number.
We could go all the way through the Bible and read example after example of people seeking God.
I listen to folks in our day, both Democrats and GOP, making plans for presidential elections. The hype is unbelievable. The talk of money is outrageous. Billions of dollars are to be raised and spent. Even if the GOP wins, this is no wise will deliver us from the antichrists who are enemies of God and His righteousness. While fights go on in the political arena, the battle goes much deeper than this. It is a spiritual war. All men and women are up against spiritual principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, demon armies of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). Demons cannot be destroyed by mere money or elections.
The good news is that God is now raising up a Spirit Army with a NUCLEAR ANOINTING to confront these demon forces … which live in the enemies of God. He is mustering His Spirit Army that will be armed and dangerous, not in the flesh, but dangerous to the House of Hell!!!
