Jeremiah had become a thorn in the side of the nation of Judah by his (God’s) continual messages of judgment (starting with reign of king Josiah (627 BC) and continuing till 586 B.C., destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylon Army). He witnessed the incredulous trajectory of Judah’s backsliddings, their idyllic idol worship that stoked up the fire of God’s wrath against them. Although he was known as the “Prophet of Tears,” there was another side to him: “But, you, O LORD of hosts, O Just Judge, searcher of mind and heart, let me witness the VENGEANCE you take on them, for to you I have entrusted my cause” (Jeremiah 11:20).
Jeremiah’s life had been threatened by his own nation. His preaching and prophecys were not appreciated; they were HATED! He wrote: “The Lord has made it know to me and I knew it; then You showed me their deed (sinful!). But I was like a gentle lamb that is brought to the slaughter, and I did not know that they had devised plots against me, saying, ‘Let us DESTROY the tree with the fruit and let us cut him off from the land of the living so that his name may be remembered NO MORE!” (v.18, 19).
This is exactly what the enemies have done to prophet Deborah Green (and all ACMTC/SRN members). They (ex-members joined with the state of NM) HATE her preaching and giving forth the Words of the Spirit (prophecies), for the Word of God pin-points their wicked deeds.
The “good news” is that the haters of truth lost in the end, not Jeremiah. He witnessed God’s vengeance upon his enemies, but not before he experienced their anger/wrath against him. He was thrown into a pit (prison) and treated like a treasonous dog! (Jeremiah 37:15-16).
Even though Jeremiah was the prophet of the “Mighty God” (…/pantokrator), the “All Mighty God,” he still was persecuted and imprisoned for his faith. He was treated unjustly by those who did not want to give up their sin life. Gen. Deborah has received her fair share of the same over the years. Her vulnerability has caused her to be attacked again and again by vicious dogs. Conspirators have tried to literally DESTROY her (and me) using every imaginable chicaneries/machinations/evil diversions known to man. Her name has been maligned for years now. But its not over!
It may appear that justice will not come; God’s justice is not like man’s vengeance. It may come in many forms. When backslidden Israel had the Roman state to put Jesus to death, they thought they had accomplished a grand thing. What they did was seal their own doom. Jesus, in His risen/glorified state, did see the vengeance of God’s wrath upon Israel. He even put forth a parable about it: “But as for those ENEMIES of Mine, who would not let Me reign over them, bring them here and SLAY (some MSS use SLAUGHTER!) them before Me” (Luke 19:27). You see, God got His vengeance. It took some years but His judgment/punishment came.
Hold on Deborah – God will not overlook the injustice done to you. We’re all praying for you. We all love you. We know that you are praying for your (our) enemies that God will do something in their hearts.
Note: Deborah was released from prison (after serving 4½ years of a 72 year sentence) on Jan.28, 2022! God is not mocked!
