If one goes back in time to the founding of “Free Love ministries” / Aggressive Christianity Missions Training Corps (ACMTC), read the newspaper articles, watch the T.V. reports, listen to the radio programs about us, the word “CULT” (later, SECT) is used extensively. Before we got structured (see Salvation Army article) as a Missions Training Corps, we were a group of believers meeting in private homes, usually ours. Having left a Pentecostal Organizational Church (1972-77), we did personal missionary work in the US / Central & parts of South America (1978-1980). It wasn’t until 1981-82 that we met in what at that time was called a “house church”. As we grew in numbers we needed more space for Sacramento, CA. was full of interested persons who had also come out from Organized/denominational Churches or had been saved but had no Christian home to belong to.
Militant/Aggressive
These two words literally scared the devil out of both Church & State (well, almost!). As we got structured/versed in Biblical terminology (Christian soldiering – see my many articles – posted). We couldn’t believe the UPROAR over what the Bible actually teaches on Spirit Warfare. You would think we were teaching and practicing a strange religion. Fasting & casting out demons (which we did a lot of) became the focal point of contention with the unlearned Churchites & the secular gov./media. The WAR was ON! All HELL broke out against us. Lies, threats, smear jobs by the media (mostly Ch.13 & Sacto. Bee News, plus many, many other “news” outlets in & around the State of CA. See our PX2 Files). This is history now.
What The Bible Teaches
I take Matthew 28:19 & 20 serious now & back then: “Go therefore & make disciples(lit., disciplined ones) of all the nations… teaching them to observe all things that & have commanded you…” NKJV. Jesus taught Spiritual Warfare & He did fast; in fact, He said that some demons will not “go out except by prayer & fasting” (see Mt. 17:19-21). Paul et al. fasted, prayed, cast out demons. Why are those of us who pray – fast – cast out demons called a cult? [note: see our PX2 Files and all the teachings connected with them, esp. on what a “CULT” is].
Sects & Cults
Let’s get them right! There were both Jewish & Pagan sects/cults before Jesus, during Jesus’ ministry, & after He was crucified /resurrected /glorified. Matt. 10 starts out with Jesus giving “power over unclean spirits (demons), TO CAST THEM OUT, & to heal all kinds of sickness & all kinds of disease,” Mt. 10:1. Matthew 10 points to an exclusively Jewish mission in a semirural village CULTure. Matt. & Lk. locate Jesus’ post resurrection appearances exclusively in the Galilee, (Mk. 16,7; Mt. 28:6,16). Acts focuses on urban centers (Lk. 24:13,33,47,50-52; Acts 1:4,8,12; 2:1-5). The JESUS MOVEMENT was well under way – His disciples/followers were armed & dangerous: they had the spiritual armor/weapon (Eph. 6), they had their Battle Orders (Mt. 28), they went by faith into the devil’s Strongholds. So, tell me, why is the Church content with playing “Church” & not doing battle against the “Forces of Hell!?”.
Just a few months ago 5 N.M. judges called us a “Dangerous Cult!” Well, living in N.M. for years now, we know some of these CORRUPT /DISHONEST judges as well as many law enforcement officers. N.M. is known as the MOST CORRUPT and dangerous states in the Union. N.M. is a democratic stronghold, so, naturally we’re not liked or accepted. (see “Democratic judge resigns after housing alleged Tren de Aragua member.”)
Judge Joel Cono & his wife were arrested by ICE. He & she also gave weapons to this gang member to upgrade his “shooting skills”. Folks, this is N.M.! This took place in Las Cruces, N.M., where we had a mission just a few miles outside this city (we lived there 6 years before we setup camp in Fence Lake, N.M. in the late 1990s). This state is so CORRUPT! We have been under investigation for years, spent time in jail/prison (wife & others also) for our faith. Yet corrupt law officers/judges/DA’s et al do criminal things all the time.
Back to Israel
As long as the Jesus sect/cult remained exclusively within the realm of Jewish culture in the homeland, then its “message” for the “Mess Age” & appeal were shaped by this CULTural horizon, even though it might have been at odds with the religious establishment or with other sectarian groups.
Was not the Jewish Essenes, Pharisees a cult? It was the “come out” folks of Judaism that were classified as a “dangerous cult!”, for they denounced Judaism (which murdered Jesus, their very own Messiah/Savior).
The “Jesus Movement” started out with a few Jews but grew more & more Gentile. L.M. White has a book called, “Christianity: Early Social Life & Organization” in which he writes: “The early diffusion of the (Jesus) movement was a by-product of new impulses & experiences arising out of diverse social circumstances.” He tells us that eventually some movement members began to work among Greek-speaking diaspora Jews in cities like Antioch. In the long run, this primarily gentile movement became what we know today as Christianity. but, as I’ve written ever since the early 1970s, Churchianity has outstripped Biblical Christianity, hence, what we call “Christianity” today is in truth a “religious cult”, the “god” of self is worshipped, the “god” of materialism is worshipped, the “god” of sexual preference is worshipped.
The word CULT comes from the word CULTURE (see article posted).
Because
“Because the terms sect/cult have such a negative connotation in popular usage,” writes Prof. L.M. White (Univ. of Texas, Austin), “many sociologists & social anthropologists who deal with religious phenomena prefer not to use these terms any longer. They opt instead for neutral categories such as ‘religious minorities’ or ‘new religious movements’.” This may be true, but the word “cult” especially is hurled at any and all who do not fit the profile of the establishment. Well, Jesus surely was a CULT leader, for He broke with a lot of Judaism’s beliefs/practices. Anyone going outside the Church box is branded a cultist or belonging to a CULT. Ancient cults abounded back in Jesus’ day – long before His day. True, they were not part of Judaism, hence dangerous & deceitful.
Both “sect” and “cult” are ancient terms.
Sect: (Latin, “secta”) = “any group of people having a common leadership, set op opinions, philosophical doctrine, political principles, etc., religious, secular, etc. To be “sectarian”, as described in my New World Dict., is a person who is blindly & narrow-mindedly devoted to a sect. Well, aren’t we as Believers in Christ supposed to be wholly/holy committed, dedicated, consecrated, separated unto Christ, having a single eye & having our eyes, minds, hearts stayed upon Him & His Kingdom? The Bible teaches this;
Cult: (Latin, “cultus”) = usually referred to the sacred rites for a particular deity & thus came to be applied to certain types of rituals, esp. sacrifices or the mysteries. By derivation, then, was it applied to foreign cults, as meaning those ethnic groups with different gods & peculiar religious rituals, such as the worship of Isis & Osiris, So, in that sense too Romans would have called Judaism a “foreign cult”.
I laugh when we are called a “cult”, which we are! We are, as born-again, Spirit filled, water baptized, forgiven people, part of “The Cult of The Living God”. Jesus is our Head; we are His body: we worship Him in Spirit & in Truth. Belonging to any Christian Church makes you a “cult” follower. Why does this scare you?
“Cult” comes from “culture”/ “cultivation” – isn’t Christianity a “culture”? And aren’t we instructed to cultivate a loving/living relationship with Jesus, our CULT leader? Aren’t we supposed to be devoted/attached to Him & His Word? All the years we’ve been a “cult” (used in a derogatory way), hardly one soul – “Christian” or pagan has challenged us on our teachings. They prefer to lie about what we do, what we wear, what we eat or don’t eat. Why not dig into what we believe, teach, & practice? There was one ACMTC hater who did attack what we taught, only to be told by a leading Bible expert (Dr. Walter Martin, “The Bible Answer Man” on radio back in the 1980s) that what we believed & taught was Bible based! Never heard another word about what we teach or believe.
Did You Know?
In contrast, there was no ancient term in either Jewish or Greco-Roman tradition that corresponds to our use of the word “religion”. The closest Greek equivalent was “eusebeia”, meaning the proper “reverence” for the gods/goddesses, again with the sense of proper “observance”. Latin “religio” was virtually a synonym for “cultus”< meaning the proper festivals, rituals, & observances due to the gods/goddesses of the city/state.
Sect: (Greek, “hairesis”) was typically used of particular schools, religious groups, or factions;
Cult: (Gk. “hiera” or “leitourgia”) usually referred to the sacred rites for a particular deity, hence, came to be applied to certain types of rituals etc. The modern sense of the word “sect” (in English) comes from the Latic but over the decades became restricted to = a dissident religious faction that is opposed to the national church (as described in the Oxford Eng. Dict.).
In 1625 A.D. Roger Bacon stated: “When the Religion formerly received is rent by Discords; … you may [not] doubt the springing up of a New Sect.”
The reference, of course, was to groups like the Puritans, break-offs from the Church of England. “Sect” became more common after the Protestant Reformation: the Protestant Reformation attacked the Roman Catholic Church. Rightly so, it was the “enemy” of the True Church of Jesus Christ (see my articles on the RCC, posted).
In 1911, Ernest Troeltscho wrote The Social Teachings of the Christian Church, which provided the first systematic definition from a sociological perspective, according to L.M. White who wrote From Jesus To Christianity, to explain pluralism, change, & conflict in Westen Christian CULTure, he, Troeltsch, used “church-type” to refer to a religious movement that accepts & preserves the existing social order & “sect-type” to reflect hostility toward the social order & a seeking to build an alternative one thru small religious groups.
In The Social Sources of Denominationalism, by H.R. Niebuhr (1929), the basic idea to the proliferation of Christian denominations (which I once belonged to) is found. H.R.N. argued that “sects” tend to arise out of social discontent but remain unstable forms of religious organization. With the current acceptance of the LGBTQ+, Methodism has split. This is also occurring within other large denominations as well. But even within the “come out” sect, over time this too will face a split – matter of time.
We live in a time of ebb & flow, “Church” people & “sect” people are discontented. Paul, in his letter to Ephesus wrote “that we should no longer be children, tossed to & fro & carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting.” – Eph. 4:14, NKJV. Two of the main false doctrines that we should be aware of are the “prosperity” doctrine & the “LGBTQ+” doctrine = God wants His people to be RICH & be fulfilled SEXUALLY, no matter what the Bible says!!
Paul mentions some sinful vices that are contrary to sound doctrine in his letter to Timothy (1 Tim. 1:10). In his second letter he states that “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God… that the man (mankind) of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” – 2 Tim. 3:16,17. False doctrine & false shepherds have been around since the founding of the N.T. Christian Ekklesia. It goes without saying that the definitions of Niebuhr & Troeltsch apply relatively well in postmedieval Christian CULTure, they, as scholars point out, do not fit quite so well in the first century.
History tells us that the Roman world tolerated considerable religious diversity, & “foreign/pagan cults” from the conquered provinces moved freely. There was no “state church” in early Judaism; but there was hostile/heated sectarian debate within the Jewish homeland over operation of the temple & proper forms of “observance”. We also know that the Ekklesia of Jesus Christ was hated by the Jewish nation. This new “revolutionary” movement with its “cult” leader (Christ) caused the Roman officials to take action against both Judaism & new Christianity (over a period of time). The N.T. Church developed over time. Doctrine of “Do’s” & “Don’ts” were established… changing cultural contexts were laid down. Some of the O.T. moral laws were incorporated into the new “cult of the Living God”, as they are binding, eternal.
Building Christology & Conflict
By the beginning of the 2nd century, the name “Christians” was beginning to spell TROUBLE – trouble for Christianity & the world as well. The “army of God”, i.e. the “sent out ones” were on the move… taking Jesus to all the world… aggressively! Yep! Aggressively! The lines of demarcation were being drawn. The rift with O.T. Judaism had begun as a fissure in the aftermath of the first revolt. The period of reconstruction saw consternation, dislocation, & recrimination on all sides within Judaism (history tells us). The WAR was on: the “New World Order”, aka, “Christianity” & the “Old World Order”, aka, “Judaism”, lines of separation were established. The OWO & the NWO resisted each other. (note: WAR = “Wage Aggressive Resistance”) Rabbinic Judaism & Messiah Christianity parted ways. WAR proliferated. This new “sect”, i.e. “Christianity” was a force to be reckoned with: it did not use weapons-of-war but spiritual weapons – fasting, prayer, dedication to revolution.
Acts 5:17; 15:5; 24:5; 26:5 & 28:22 have the word “sect” in them, Greek, “hairesis” = “a choice”, i.e. (spec.) “a party or abstr.) disunion”, from “haireomai”, “to take for oneself”, i.e. “to prefer, choose”.
Acts 28:22: “But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this SECT, we know that everywhere it is spoken against.”
Acts 24:5: “For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, & a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, & a ringleader of the SECT of the Nazarenes.” Paul stood before Felix because of his stand for Christ – accused! The Jews accused Paul (Acts 23). My point is that Paul was accused of being a ringleader of the SECT of the Nazarenes (24:5). The phrase, “we have found” is the exact phrase used in the charge against Jesus, the N.T. “cult” leader, (see Lk. 23:2). The word “sect”, Gk. hairesis/ αἵρεσις here used means, “a choice, a party, heresy”. In short Paul was accused of heresy.
Josephus too uses it of the Jewish sects. Paul et al. were accused of teaching false doctrines – apparently with a contemptuous nuance, as we might use the word “heretic”, (see vs.14 where the word “heresy” is used; see also 28:22 where again we find “sect”.).
The name Nazarenes, strictly “Nazareans” (see 2:22). Since the name applied to a “sect”, it can be translated “the Salvationists”. (Jesus = the Savior, Jn. 4:42; Acts 5:31; Eph. 5:23; 1 Tim. 4:10; 2 Tim. 1:10; Titus 2:13). The Jews accused Paul of trying to desecrate the temple, Acts 24:6.
If you, as a Christian, have not been accused of being some sort of a troublemaker, then there is something very wrong. ALL of God’s true people have been persecuted, many prosecuted, some put in prison & some more put to death. The HATRED for Biblical Truth, mad against the followers of Christ, has been from time immemorial. We are considered “sect” that need to be exterminated. the very day my wife & I were saved, persecution started! … and it continues as I write this article. The state of N.M. declared a conspiracy against us when they found out we had moved our H.Q. to N.M. in the early 1990s. (see, I have proof in writing found by our lawyer).
So Far…
So far we’ve learned that a “sect” is a separatist (schismatic) revitalization movement that arised out of an established, religiously defined CULTural system, with which it shares its symbolic world view;
A “cult” is an integrative, often syncretistic, movement that is effectively imported (by mobilization/mutation) into another religiously defined CULTural system, to which it must seek to synthesize its novel symbolic world view.
This is the way some defined S/C. (note: for the way we define “cult”, see Aggressive Christianity. Net., page 1 under Double P (PX2) Files, under “Cult Hysteria”)
By the above definitions, the same religious movement might be a “cult” & a “sect” simultaneously if it moves from its original parent CULTure into a new host CULTure. (see Sects & New Religious Movements, 1988; The Future of Religious Movements, 1988; The Future of Religion: Secularization, Revival, & Cult Formation, 1985).
I Ask…
Is it a sin or a crime to belong to a Sect/Cult? True, there are satanic/dangerous/deceitful sects/cults that should be avoided, but don’t be intimidated by the word “cult” (look up the definition: Christianity is a cult! – it has doctrines & one Supreme leader, Jesus.
Culture
This term has been understood in a variety of ways. In pop usage it is employed to signify specific activities. It has also come to be used in a far more comprehensive manner to refer to practices, institutions, values, beliefs etc. But “culture” goes back to the very beginning of human life on earth.
There is no such thing as an “uncultured” people, since culture is one of the defining marks of human identity/existence. Definitions abound within the discipline of social anthropology. Cultures/societies have been classified as either “civilized” or “uncivilized”. When the Europeans came to this country (what is now called the United States), the Natives were called “uncivilized” pagans, hence, the extermination began!… in the name of God! Replacement rather than their preservation was enacted.
What about True Biblical Christianity? Well, what took place was not TBC, for TBC, as the Lausanne Covenant puts it, that the Church “must not be identified with any particular culture, social or political system, or human (or inhuman) ideology.” For evangelicals, the Lausanne Congress (1974), placed the issue of culture firmly on the theological/missiological agenda. This is why, we as a missions Training Corps, take Jesus, not America, to the world, nor do we take any particular denomination to the world. Being organized as a mission’s group is not the same as being restricted to a set of organizational/denominational (O/D) do’s & don’ts. We here are not bound by O/D – we are free to be “culture-free” in the narrow sense. Biblical Christianity I believe is a Divine/Holy Culture. (for a discussion see H.R. Niebuhr’s book, Christ & Culture, 1951). While we may live in a certain culture (for us it is the U.S.A.), we’re not to teach/preach culture – as Paul writes: “There is neither Jew or Greek (Gentile), there is neither bond or free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all ONE (unified) in Christ Jesus.” (Gal. 3:28)
Christ died for ALL. The Greeks divided all men into either Greeks or barbarians, & the Jews called all others “goyim”. To God, lost souls are lost souls, no matter what culture they belong. One’s social standing – free/bond – does not disqualify one from salvation.
We’ve always been what is called “cross-culture missionaries” (1971-), teaching, preaching, baptizing. In 1980 we started in earnest raising of a spirit-filled army, going into enemy strongholds, along with facing the inward enemies of the flesh. In short we dealt with the world, the flesh, & the demonic.
Paul puts it like this: “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (physical) but mighty in God for the pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments & every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, & being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” – 2 Cor. 10:3-6, NKJV.
All the above involves lots of prayer, obedience, dedication, consecration & separation from the world – even from “Churchianity”.
Orders Received!
We, my family, received our marching orders to ADVANCE into Satan’s territory back in the early 1970s. In the early 1980s we got organized (battle-ready), going literally into all the world. We Prayed for the Holy Spirit move upon mere Church people, revolutionizing them, in turn, that they would started training Corps (which many are still operating today, despite our prison terms here at home).
Basically, the modern Church has settled down to “play Church” (with some exceptions, PTL!) Yet, they are involved (in a bad way) with social causes (LGBTQ et al.), fight over doctrinal differences, political issues etc., but fail to keep their own camps clean & free of demons.
Have You…
Have you, dear Christian, grown tired of the same ole song & dance in Church la la land? Aren’t you tired of hearing about $$ & “have your best life now” stuff? Aren’t you tired of giving to a worthless Church that has unBiblical “theories” & “formulas” that are suppose to make you a happy, healthy, & holy “Saint” of God without giving up anything that is of the world? If so, it is time for REVOLUTION! Yes sir, a Holy Revolution where the “Sword that CUTS & the Fire BURNS.” It is time to receive real SPIRIT POWER – “dunamis” (see Eph. 6:10 where the word “power” is used = from which Eng. word “dynamite” is used; the word “dynamism” is rooted in “power” = “force or energy, being energetic, vigorous etc.; “dynomo” comes from the same root = “forceful, dynamic”.)
Where is the “power” in today’s Church?
FYI
Allow me, at the closing of this article, to present the word “power”, noun & verb, along with “powerful”, the adjectives & the adverb:
POWER: (N.) Dunamis/ δύναμαι (Gk.) (see also ability & might, used sometimes, by metonymy, of persons and things, e.g., (a) of God, see Mt. 26:64; Mk. 14:62; (b) of angels, e.g., perhaps in Eph. 1:21, R.V. = “power, A.V. = “might” (see Rom. 8:38; 1 Pet. 3:22); (c) of that which manifests the LORD’s power: Christ, 1 Cor. 1:24; the Gospel, Rom. 1:16; (d) of mighty works (R.V., marg., = “Power” or “powers”), e.g., Mk. 6:5, “mighty work”; so 9:39, R.V. (A.V., = “miracle”); Acts 2:22 (ditto); 8:13, “miracles”; 2 Cor. 12:12, R.V., = “mighty works” (A.V., = “mighty deeds”).
[note: for different meanings of synonymous terms, see “dominion”, which I taught extensively in the early 80s].
(2) Exousia (N.) / εξουσία = freedom of action, right to act; used of God, it is absolute, unrestricted, e.g., Lk. 12:5 (R.V. marg., = “authority”); in Acts 1:7 ‘right of disposal’ is what is indicated; used of men, authority is delegated. Angels are called “powers” in Eph. 3:10 (see also 1:21); 6:12; Col. 1:16; 2:10,15. (see “authority/principality”);
(3) Ischus (N.) / ἰσχύς = ability, force, strength (nowhere trans. “power” in the R.V. (A.V. in 2 Thes. 1:9). (see ability);
(4) Kratos (N.) / κράτος = “power” in the R.V. & A.V. in 1 Tim. 6:16; Heb. 2:14; in Eph. 1:19; 6:10, A.V., “power” (R.V., “strength”): (see dominion/strength);
(5) Dunaton (N.) / δυνατόν = the neuter of the adj. “dunatos”, = “powerful”, is used as a N. with the article in Rom. 9:22, “(to make His) power (known),” (see “able”);
(6) Arche (N.) / ἀρχή, = a beginning, rule, is trans. “power” in Lk. 20:20, A.V. (R.V., = “rule”).
Verb
Exousiazō (v.) / ἐξουσιάζω, = to exercise authority, is used (1.) in the Active Voice (see Lk. 22:25), R.V., = “have authority” (A.V., = “exercise authority”), of the power of rulers; 1 Cor. 7:4 (2 times), of marital relations/conditions; (2.) in the Passive Voice, 1 Cor. 6:12, to be brought under the power of a thing; here, this verb & the preceding one connected with it, “exesti”, = present a “paronomasia”, which some Gk. scholars present: ‘All are within my power; but I will not put myself under the power of any one of all things’;
Notes
(1) In Rev. 13:4,15, (A.V.), “didōmi”, = “to give” is trans. “(he) had power”; (R.V.), “it was given (him)” & “it was given unto him”; the (A.V.), according to some Gk. scholars they point out that the force of the permissive will of God in the acting of the Beast. (2) In Rom. 16:25, (A.V.), “dunamai” = “to be able”, is trans. “that is of power” (R.V., = “that is able”).
(3) The subject of power in the Scriptures may be viewed under the following heads (as Prof. W.E. Vine et al. Gk. scholars note):
(a) its original source, in the Persons in the Godhead (Father, Son, Holy Spirit);
(b) its exercise by God in creation, its preservation & its government;
(c) special manifestations of Divine power, past, present & future;
(d) power existent in created beings, other than man, & in inanimate nature;
(e) committed to man, & misused by them;
(f) committed to those who, on becoming believers, were empowered by the H.S., are indwelt by Him, & will exercise it hereafter for God’s glory. Amen!
Powerful
Powerful, Greek, Adjectives:
(1) Energēs/ἐνεργής (see “Active”);
(2) Ischuros/ἰσχυρός, = strong, mighty, (see “Power/Powerful” in 2 Cor. 10:10, A.V. (R.V., = “strong”).
Adverb:
Eutonōs/ εὐτόνως, = signifies vigorously, vehemently (“eu”, well, “teinō”, to stretch), Lk. 23:10, “Vehemently”, of the accusation of the chief priests & scribes against Christ Jesus; Acts 18:28, R.V., = “powerfully” (A.V., = “mightily”), of Apollos in confuting Jews (see the LXX, Joshua 6:8).
For “is powerful” (2 Cor. 13:3, R.V.), see “mighty”.
All these Greek words are found in the N.T. you would think that all the Churches that name the name of Jesus Christ would have POWER & AUTHORITY. Some sects & cults have more P/A than many N.T. Churches.
Roots
In order to understand Biblical CULTural anthropology & provide analytical tools for engaging in Christian CULTural apologetics, we naturally must go back to Genesis (cpts. 1 & 2). Adam & Eve started the human CULTure. Genesis is no myth as some believe, – one man / one woman given orders to start the human race. They were given DOMINION (Heb., râdâh = to tread down, subjugate, prevail against, reign over). Do you think today’s Church had dominion power? Humanity is one BIG CULT, culture. So, why are we so afraid of the word “cult”? Humans are mere consumers of culture.
At the conclusion of the primal narratives of Gen. 1:11, the neglected “Table of the Nations” demonstrates the divine concern for people in all their CULTural & linguistic diversity. As time would have it, cultures have clashed & crashed. Gen. 11 graphically depicts the manner in which fallen humans can use culture as a vehicle for a declaration of independence from the Creator. Hasn’t America pretty much declared its independence from Him & His Word – as a nation? Oh, yes, we have a land full of Churches & Churchites, BUT how many are “Spirit Born” (Jn. 3:3,5)? How many are mere human institutions, not Spirit institutions? The “Church” is so worried about “cults” that she has become a godless, gutless cult itself. America has become “One nation under god”.
Fin
Because man/woman is God’s creature, some of their CULTure is rich in beauty & goodness. Because they have fallen, all of it is tainted with SIN & some of it is DEMONIC, not DIVINE!
While America has tried to sanctify sin, making the U.S. a nation to be honored in the sight of other nations, God sees the inner corruption, the ROT. The Church has followed in the same path. In times, past, America was the great light house, a CULTural center of the movement, the missions movement, which millions came & millions went – “taking Jesus to all the world”.
