January 1, 2023 – The Spirit of prophecy has been telling us (my wife and I) that this year you will see no let-up in God’s wrath-fury-indignation.
I’ve been busy writing articles as the Spirit reveals forthcoming events to us. The Words of the Lord/Spirit just told us that His WRATH/PUNISHMENTS were going to INCREASE this year – 2023! [Note: I’m writing this article at 3:00 am. The Spirit always gives us a New Year’s Day Word early.]
God uses both human and natural agencies for good and evil (“calamities,” as Isaiah 45:7 tells us). The world has been disrupted over the past several years with this Covid-19 virus/plague/curse. And I have shown in other articles how the LORD used ruthless and cruel pagan kings, with their armies, to punish His sinning people (Israel) and to punish pagan nations themselves for their sins! I’ve shown that God used King Nebuchadnezzar to come against Judah/Jerusalem, calling this great pagan king “My servant” (Jeremiah 25:9). In Isaiah 45:1 God calls the pagan king Cyrus His “anointed,” whom He used for the good concerning Israel.
Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Isaiah all wrote about these events. God used them to prophecy judgment upon nations, many nations that were worthy of such judgments.
Ezra 1:1 shows that the Spirit of God “stirred up the spirit of Cyrus, king of Persia” to set Israel free. King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon was used to imprison God’s people for 70 years, and Jeremiah 25:11-12 tells us about the 70 years, saying in verse 12, “Then it will come to pass, when 70 years are completed, that I will PUNISH the king of Babylong and that nation, the land of the Chaldeans, for their iniquity, says the LORD…” What we see is that the LORD used the king of Babylon as “His weapon” to punish His people Israel (Judah), taking them to Babylon for 70 years (i.e., those who survived the assault in which thousands were slain!). God used the kings Darius and Cyrus on behalf of the Jewish captives (see the books of Ezra and Nehemiah).
But back to Jeremiah 25: The LORD says to Jeremiah, “Take this wine cup of FURY (see Revelation 14:10 – fury and wrath are the same) from My hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it” (v. 15). What we need to learn is that the LORD GOD is Sovereign over ALL the nations! He rules! He dealt with all those pagan nations in ancient times (see vv. 18-38).
The LORD says in 25:29, “For behold, I begin to bring calamity.” “Calamity” = “Evil” in some versions; “evil” in Hebrew is ra: see Isaiah 45:7, where evil/calamities are one and the same. Strong’s Concordance #7541 = ra‘ (rah) = “bad” or (as a noun) “evil (national or moral), adversity, affliction, calamity, displeasure, distress, great grief, mischief, misery, sorrow, troubles, wretchedness, wrong”; (ra‘ah), from 7489 = ra‘a‘ = “to spoil (lit. by breaking to pieces, good for nothing, afflict, break down, do harm, punish, vex, do wickedly.” Strongs #7455 is another Hebrew word for evil = roa‘ = “badness (physical or moral), do evil, naughtiness, sadness, sorrow, wickedness.”
The LORD punishes men/nations for their evil and uses evil as punishment.
Apropos: In regard to all this, Jeremiah 25:31 says, “For the LORD has a controversy with the nations” – the very same thing He has been telling us in the Words of the Spirit. The title for Words of the Spirit 10-12-22 tells us that “Evil Agendas Are On The Rise.” The Word itself says, “The workers of iniquity are cunning in their craftiness and cruelty towards the ones who are serving Me…” We’re seeing this being played out.
Words of the Spirit 10-18-22, entitled, “Nations and People Under Wrath Deserve It!” uses the Words “My wrath” 8 times! Words of the Spirit 12-04-22, entitled, “The World Will Not Get Better!” has the Words “plagues” and “plagued” mentioned 10 times; it says, “…Plagues entail more than physical affliction…” then the Words of the Spirit lists some of the other types of plagues: “homelessness, civil unrest, violence, political upheavals, wicked rulers, additions, death, perverse behaviors, murder, poverty, fear,…”
The Words of the Spirit ends with, “…the world is not going to get better, as people are rebelling like hellions against Me and the Way that would give them life…” So, dear ones, God “has a controversy with the nations,” especially the U.S.A., for its sinfulness. Repent!
Controversy: Hebrew: (Strong’s 7379) riyb (reeb) “a contest (personal or legal), adversary, cause, contend, strife,” from ruwb (roob, a primary root), “to grapple; mostly fig.; to wrangle, defend, adversary, complain against, contend, debate, rebuke, strive.”
The “controversy with the nations” (Jeremiah 25:31) did not stop with Jeremiah’s day. Some Bible versions use “indictment” instead.
In God’s indictment: “He will give those who are wicked to the sword” (v. 31).
Verse 32 says, “Behold, DISASTER shall go forth from nation to nation…” Even as I write these ancient words, disasters of all kinds are falling upon nations. Hatred and mistrust abounds. Lies and liars increase. Nations are ready to either attack or defend themselves. Look at the utter destruction around the world: many nations are geared up for either offensive warfare or defensive warfare. Revolutions, coups, violent protests and insurrections are happening globally … yet the LORD oversees it all:
READ THESE PSALMS –
“Our God is in Heaven; He does whatever He pleases” (115:3).
“Whatever the LORD pleases He does, in Heaven and in earth’” (135:6).
“For He commands and raises the stormy wind…” (107:25).
“God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne” (47:8).
“Behold the works of the LORD, who has made desolations in the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth…” (46:9).
“For God is King of all the earth” (47:7).
“The LORD looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men…” (33:13).
“The wicked shall be turned into Hell, and all the nations that forget God” (9:17; TAKE HEED, AMERICA!).
“God is a just Judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day … He also prepares for Himself instruments death” (7:11,13).
“He also who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the LORD shall hold them (raging nations 2:1) in derision. He shall speak to them in His WRATH, and DISTRESS them in His deep DISPLEASE” (2:4-5).
The LORD is the same God today as He was centuries ago. He is still judging individuals and nations as He sees fit. We are in the time of His wrath-fury-indignation. Nothing will change this EXCEPT repentance.
The year 2023 will be a time of His sore displeasure. Even as we see His wrath-fury-indignation being executed upon America and the world in general, men and nations will not repent (with exceptions, of course). The LORD will hold us in derision (la‘ag, “to deride, laugh, scorn, mock”).
This Church la-la god that is being taught – “God loves you no matter how in the HELL you live” – is of the devil. Sober up, America! Sober up, nations! God is ANGRY with us!!!
