“There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it” (Ecclesiastes 8:8, KJV).Cease Firing?
NOT FOR AN INSTANT! We fire, keep on firing, more and more, so long as fire is called for-fire on fire! A true Christian that has enlisted in God’s Army, been trained to fight, will not stop fighting but has only commenced the work of the sword (Spirit Word) and fire (burning). It is onward and upward till ALL enemies are our footstool.
There are powers that defy man, which he cannot retain (Ecclesiastes 8:8). The first of these to be mentioned is the ruah (Heb.)—”the spirit of man, or some prefer to render it “the wind” (see John 3:8 in the New Testament). Then there is death, which on the appointed day claims its victim. There is also war, which in the area of its raging engulfs and carries all away, and from which there is no mishlahath (Heb.)—”discharge” or “getting off.”
We have wars that transpire within each individual, and wars that manifest outwardly among men and nations. There is no stopping them.
“Authority ends with the grave, even the authority of kings. Kipling made a poem out of one phrase of the passage: ‘There is no discharge in that war’ (v. 8)….[The] passage might mean that there is no escape from imperial draft; or else that wars are inevitable; or else, as Kipling meant, that there are engagements in life from which there is no discharge” (The Interpreter’s Bible, Vol. V, 1956).
“Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?” (Psalm 94:16). God might ask this same question today. Would you respond?
Are you one of those who agrees to disagree on matters of life or death, Heaven or Hell, right or wrong? Are you one of those who hold your peace when you should be engaged in the King’s War?
What? Agree to let sinners alone? Alone in their sins, to perish forever? NEVER! Did not Jesus Christ die for all the world? Or did He just die for a few souls? How can any child of God not war against men’s sins-sins of every size and every design; sins that damn princes and menials, kings, presidents, preachers, perverts. Sinners are still sinners in the Church or out of it; in the pulpit or in the pew! Sin is sin!
“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3). The LXX2 reads, “…except they know each other.” Amos expressed God’s thoughts about Israel, sinful Israel, challenging their knowledge of Him. There can be no compromise, no “agreeing-to-disagree” relationship between God and His people. Either we are up front and honest with our God, or we are backslid (see Micah 6:8).
“You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities” (Amos 3:2). This verse expresses, in a single sentence, the Lord’s concern for His people and His impending wrath that must come “for all…iniquities.” This juxtaposition, this placing side by side, of God’s love plus God’s judgment with respect to His chosen people, reveals that to be God’s people “His peculiar treasure” (Psalm 135:4)-there involves both privilege and responsibility. Therefore we may make no compromises or agreements whatsoever in letting sin and sinners alone. I’m not talking about matters of opinion in everyday life. When it comes to Heaven or Hell, life or death, we must open wide the mouth and protest for God’s sake. We must wage the war and not seek discharge from it.
Are not His commandments a lamp, and His laws a light, and His reproofs of instruction the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE? Did the prophets of old hold their peace? Did Jesus or the Apostles? The Bible tells us plainly that “They that forsake the law, praise the wicked: but such as keep the law, contend with them” (Proverbs 28:4). We are not just dealing with the Old Testament Law, but the entire scope of the New Testament.
Did Jesus ever “agree to disagree” with the religious scribes, Pharisees, priests, elders, hypocrites? How do you read your Bible? Do you read your Bible?
“Unity in Diversity”
INFLUENTIAL “MINISTERS” like Billy Graham are siding with the liberals, the homosexuals, the Communists, the New Agers, the One Worlders, and all else. Meanwhile, Graham’s WHOLE influence is disgusting in the very face of justice, mercy, love, and truth!! Amen and amen.
Graham, along with others in the religious circus of Protestant and Roman Catholic Churchland, are helping to bring about the New World Religion by promoting and supporting the very sick and satanic ecumenical movement. Of course its theme is “unity in diversity.” We all know what this entails: everything anti-Christ and anti-Biblical. Did Jesus call for such synthesis?
Promoters and supporters of “unity in diversity” tell folks like me that we have nothing to fear, so long as there is mutual respect between differing points of view! By “mutual respect” they mean that they don’t want anyone, including God, to tell them they are wrong or that they are in sin. That is not right. That is not Christian.
“Synthesis” is a very important term in the occult and New Age teachings. This is what it expresses: “Don’t mind what the Bible says. Let us look towards the central goal of these (non-Biblical, perverted Biblical) teachings, which are going to help give birth to a New World Religion.” “Synthesis,” in this sense, is the joining together of all faiths, but it is only accomplished by denying pure truth.
There is a book out called “Toward a Maitreyon Revolution” (1989, Harvest Pub., p. 170), which explains the following: “New universal religion…will be non-dogmatic [this means no absolute authority of Christ or His true Church!]…a synthesis of mysticism, occultism, humanism, theism, pantheism, and idealism, all related to a glorious search for cosmic consciousness. There will be new temples arising where the symbols of every religion will be seen as part of one architectural and geometrical reality of the cosmos…The new religion will have its prayers, mantras, and invocations, plus acknowledging the values and expressions of those from the religions and teachings of the past.” What filthy GARBAGE!!!
Could you imagine God and His prophets agreeing with all the satanic religions in the Old Testament days? Could you imagine Jesus and His Apostles agreeing with all the religions of His day? Can you imagine the Holy Spirit and His true Church agreeing with all this trash calling itself Christ, cosmic consciousness? Only a fool will accept one of satan’s cleverest devices; but we have a world of fools.
Standing for Righteousness
TO LET this sinful garbage go on without rebuking it is SIN in the highest form. God’s Holy Word is being perverted, misconstrued, and falsely interpreted to uphold the most imprudent, barefaced iniquities. And we have men like the famous “Reverend” Billy Graham promoting such nonsense. I think it is time to read Isaiah 28:
“Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the water shall overflow the hiding place. And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with Hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.”
In verse 15 it says, “Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with Hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves.” Isn’t this the very same spirit that is taking the land today? Israel made a bargain; › settled all preliminaries. They had made a covenant with Hell by diabolic sacrifices. In other words, they worshiped demons in the name of God. Such was Israelitish idolatry. Such is Churchianity’s idolatry today. But you can see that God puts a stop to such iniquity.
When we see perversity arising within the Church itself, be it known that it is incited by the perverters who believe the Bible to be flawed or who accept its contents as equal to pagan myths. Perverters deny the depravity of man, the inerrancy of the Scriptures, and the substitutionary atonement of Jesus Christ our Lord. It is endless what could be written just on this subject alone, for paganism has thoroughly diseased the so-called Church. What does the Bible tell us to do? Are we to hold “dialogue” meetings with the fools for the sake of false unity? Read Romans 16:17 please:
“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause division and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
Read also the following:
“But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness” (2 Timothy 2:16).
“If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: for he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds” (2 John 1:10-11).
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers; for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?…Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you” (2 Corinthians 6:14, 17).
Biblical Love
WE ARE to BELIEVE Biblical doctrine as Titus 1:9 tells us to. to PREACH that same doctrine as 2 Timothy 4:2 tells us to. ADORN that same Biblical doctrine as Titus 2:10 tells us to.
Much has been and is being said about Christian love. But tell me, is “love” letting the sinner go merely along the broad way towards the Lake of Fire which burns with brimstone? Are we to turn a blind eye and deaf ear to the terror and horror of sin? That is not Biblical love, Biblical charity. That is not salvation. That is DAMNATION! That is the height of stupidity, for it covers up all sin, winks at every abomination, and gives satan and his emissaries the whole field of battle.
If we listen to, let alone follow, these “dazzling darlings” of Babylon ‘Churchianity, we’ll all end up at the great Lake for a very long outing. It is the Lake “burning with brimstone” (see Revelation 19:20). It burns forever.
Do not be fooled, dear sinning religious hypocrites! Taking refuge under the garb or cloak of a “Christian” or religious profession will in no wise screen you from God’s just reproof. What does Leviticus 19:17 tell us?
“Thou shalt not hate thy brother (or sister) in thine heart: THOU SHALT IN ANY WISE REBUKE THY NEIGHBOR, AND NOT SUFFER SIN UPON HIM (OR HER).”
It is our duty to faithfully admonish our brothers and sisters, our neighbors (near or far), and as we do, we are not held accountable for what they will say or do. We are accountable to rebuke sin and sinners; to teach, preach, exhort the WORD of GOD. How could we deny our accountability? How are we who claim to be born again, having God’s Holy Spirit within us, not genuinely concerned for others’ spiritual and temporal good as we are for our own?
For your good, for our good, for the course of truth and righteousness, to fulfill the high calling of our King, our Commander in this great conflict, we should never tire in our commission to take Jesus to all the world. We should never retire from the field of battle, from being in Christ Jesus, for there is no discharge from war. We must cry aloud, spare not, lift up our voices like trumpets.
1. One Bible scholar uses the world “amulet”: “There is no amulet against war.”
2. These Roman numerals stand for the Septuagint, the ancient Greek translation of the Old Testament.
