ISAIAH 40:31
Those who will be Airborne for the Lord are those who will do SPIRIT combat. “But they that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength…” Those who wait upon the Lord shall obtain a marvelous addition to their resources-they shall obtain wings. They become “SKY SOLDIERS” in the sense that they have learned to soar in the Lord into the heavenlies to be concerned with the things which concerneth the heavenly inheritance. In the natural military, those who are in the airborne unit wear parachute wings, giving them an air of distinction and marking them as part of an elite force. They work and train especially hard to receive their wings they have overcome many fears and have learned to dc special feats-they have earned their wings. They ride above the average soldiers in uniform-why? Because they have been willing to “SOAR HIGHER” and take the risks involved! In order to enter into the Lord’s “airborne” we must be willing to do the same thing: we must wait upon the Lord and be open to His Spirit in every realm; we must be willing to accept the training and to overcome the fears and doubts which would try and beset us in this journey.
Many think that to wait upon the Lord means to tarry, but it can mean to serve as a waiter or an orderly serving and obeying the commands of whoever is directing them, Far too many Christians are waiting-but they are waiting in the wrong way, for they are waiting for God to do something for them, while God is wanting them to serve Him. It is through serving the Lord that He gives us back His strength and power to go forward and conquer. Can you imagine a paratrooper waiting for their wings to just be handed to them without ever undergoing training and service? Who would expect such a thing? Yet, Christians are so guilty of having this kind of attitude when it comes to the things of God. We should never look at training as not necessary, nor should we regard the waiting as non-essential, but we should, at every opportunity, make use of the time with God and use it as a resource which should not be wasted or squandered.
As with the natural paratrooper, the wings which he wears with pride show that he has achieved something which is worth having labored for, so is it in the things of God: When God gives us wings, it is because we have served, labored and sought to please Him in all that we do, and as this is achieved then we find ourselves in the heavenly dimensions with God.
Far too many Christians are running around without the full span of wings God intends them to have, and while they think they are doing so much, they are like the chickens in the barnyard, scratching wildly and clucking instead of soaring up into the heavenly dimensions with God. Chickens have wings, but no span: they can only flutter and flap around. Instead of being Airborne, they are earthborn. God wants a people who are Airborne-in other words, who have a wingspan enough to carry them into the heavenly dimensions above the plane of carnality into the Spirit of the Living God. The eagles are soaring whilst the chickens are snoring. Christians who do not allow God to lift them up have small, earthly views of things and cannot see into the spirit dimension. In order to see things aright we must get away from them and see things in perspective. The heavenly vision can change the course of battle as we are able to see accordingto the righteousness of God.
The eagle in the natural is a bird which has inspired men for centuries by its abilities to soar and conquer great heights, prevail through storms, and swoop down upon its prey. When we spiritually allow the Lord to make us Airborne we become conquerors in the SPIRIT, we leave the chicken coop and take to the dimensions of dominion. Praise God, for in the natural, Airborne units have played vital roles in combat experiences. As men saw the challenge and accepted it, they paved the way to victory. Their wings signified the above and beyond call of duty and they pressed into the horizons of what was ahead of them without fear of failing. So, as Christians, we are being challenged to go above and beyond, to expand, to grow, to develop our wingspan that we can serve God to the uttermost, going beyond reasonable service into the dimensions of dominion and conquest for the King. It is through vision, passion, and action that we actually come into the achievement realms of bearing our wings and carrying out our missions in the Lord. Do not stop at the vision stage, whereby you see there are greater dimensions in God and you are content to accept that but never enter in; do not stop at the passion stage, where you are enthralled with the magnificent power of God which you see before you, but go into the action stage whereby you enter into Him in His fullness and taste of the action of His vision and feel His daily passion upon you in dimensions of a heavenly nature. This is the hour to conquer, to overtake, to soar, and to prevail against the storms.
Of course, as we yield ourselves to God to enter into the Airborne dimensions, we have to expect that He will require more of us-for to whom much is given, much is also required. But let us not shy back but enter in with boldness to grab hold of those beautiful treasures which are meant to be ours. Great military Generals of all times have been men who had vision, and although their vision for the most part has been for earthly conquest, still the fact remains that they went beyond the norm for their day. They were willing to push, to sacrifice, to yield themselves to any element, to see the victorious end of the vision they had seen. So it is with the spiritual Generals who have lived and died for God. They received a vision which pushed them beyond the norm and into the impossible. Men and women who have given their all for God and obtained their “AIRBORNE WINGS” are now seated in heavenly places with Him. Although many of them suffered, toiled and paid a dear price on this earth, now they are the ones rewarded! Let us never dispute bravery. We must recognize true leadership from God when it comes. The man or the woman who is called of God is going to be the first to deny themselves, to take up their cross, to follow the Master whithersoever He leadeth. As laymen, as ministers, we need to gain our strength from God. We cannot be satisfied with chicken scratch, but rather let us seek to feast from the King’s table. In the Church, men who claim to be messengers of God are, in reality, messengers of money grabbing. All are concerned with an earthly reward. Men in the Church are only concerned with convenience, comfort, and security. None are willing to risk all to gain the Lord. This is the hour when we must throw off the chains of chicken compromise, and let the Lord lift us up to soar in Him, to overtake, and to endure to the end.
