Has the world gone CRAZY? Not crazy but CRAZIER!
Take any crowd of people in any circumstance, say at crowded airports, etc. About 90-95% are either on their cell phones / iPads or reading and sending text messages. They are so engrossed in their little world, they don’t and won’t carry on any sort of conversation with others. Even small children have some sort of gadget to occupy their minds.
Thanks to social media, humans now have become literally “tech slaves.” Texting, reading texts, emails, video conferencing, knowledge seeking – tech has become your master, rather than your servant.
Twitter, Google, Facebook: these are “GIANTS in the land.” They have become America’s ministers, bibles, saviors … gods! While the internet can be a great source of information – religious, political, social, educational, etc. – we ought not allow it to possess us. Bible reading and study has dropped in practice, each and every year. Instead of searching the Bible for inspiration, knowledge and spiritual strength, most today prefer scrolling through their social media, where lies, propaganda, mis/disinformation also abound. The internet has become the world’s bible.
As I said, there are good things to be found and consumed. However, Bible reading, praying, and seeking God should not take second place in one’s life.
Texting and reading texts have become an American OBSESSION!! A conversation between two people is usually interrupted by a phone call: “Hold on, I’ve got to take this call (or read this text).” Yep! Eyes and ears are possessed by Bro. Text and Sis. Tech.
I saw a short article where it said that children are so proficient at using technology that they are commonly called “digital natives.” Huh? Yep! The article also said that those who are less adept at using tech are referred to as “digital immigrants.” In either case, we’ve moved into “digital la la land.” We’ve become “digital addicts.”
We are so dependent on our “devices” that we are no better than “digital prisoners.”
Then there is cyberbullying, how-to-kill demos, how to make bombs, how to raise HELL, how to steal, and blah, blah, blah. Children are not only exposed to porn but can be recruited by the LGBTQ+ recruiters. So we have perverts telling a girl she is a boy; telling a boy he is a girl; and this necessitates that changes must be made to accommodate their “new” identity – sex changes.
Online activities can be highly addictive (gambling, for one), and the apps on our phones keep us at our phones (many small children have their own phones they are stuck to!). Losing a phone is now worse than losing one’s salvation! Or so people think…
It is a fact that the longer one stares at certain channels on the screen, the more profitable these channels become to advertisers.
The god of this world, satan, has WON a GREAT victory when all this tech has been embraced by the people of the world. Those who create/design all this tech have become exceedingly RICH!
Smartphones have made dummies out of those who own one and use it for the wrong reasons. And we haven’t even mentioned “sexting” – sending/receiving explicit images, be they LGBTQ+ or hetero-oriented; conversing with sexual language via text.” Those who practice this VILE “sexting” can face legal consequences: people who “sext” with underage boys and girls can be arrested, charged, and imprisoned for child porn.
Training a child used to be in the hands of the parents. Take Proverbs 22:6 for example: “Train up a child in the way he (or she) should go…” That is found in the Old Testament; this is found in the New Testament: “And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4). In Colossians 3:20, we read, “Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.”
Well, dear readers, I’m afraid parents and single parents are children themselves, acting like kids and not adults. I know of a small child (girl) who actually RULED the home. She would use the most abusive language. She would write on the walls in her bedroom, “F**k this s**t!” This is common nowadays. And this “spirit” has spilled over into our schools. The mass-murders of students are being done by young boys (usually under 21; some much younger). Where did they learn to do such murderous things? GUESS!
Parents and single parents are using digital devices as babysitters. Many devices have internet access. In the history of the U.S., Bible reading and Christian story books were read to children. Bible principles were taught in our schools. Prayers were said without fear of punishment by authorities (like antichrist Big Bro.). Now kids, even small ones, browse and scan for entertainment and for knowledge: how to make ghost guns, how to make bombs, how to terrorize, how to use drugs, do sex, blah, blah, blah. Is it any wonder that America has become a cess-pool of filth, a nation addicted to this and that, a fearful, distressed, depressed nation?
Even the military has been captured by the increasing immorality, by those causing division through racial wars, and the LGBTQ+ movement B.S. Now transgenderism is being taught rather than military tactics/strategies. Leaders are more concerned about what is between one’s legs rather than the BIG threat of CARNAL WARS on the homefront, or the nation’s soldiers abroad.
I need not write much more on this tech stuff here, for you already know what I’m saying is true.
I want to turn to the Bible itself. In reference to “knowledge,” Daniel 12:4 states: “…but you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased” (NKJV).
Much has been written and speculated about what this meant or means. The New American Bible reads, “…many shall wander aimlessly and evil shall increase.” Most translations use “knowledge.” I have no idea why the NAB uses “evil,” although this is a fact too.
The Hebrew word for “knowledge” is da‘ath, meaning “cunning, unawares, (wittingly), from yada‘ (a prim. root) = ‘to know’ (lit or fig.), used in a variety of senses, euphemisms, inferences, etc.” It also means “observation, recognition, instruction, acknowledgement, to discern, discover, uncover, instruct, make known, be learned/taught, lie, perceive, teach, understand, be wise.” The Hebrew word off yada‘ is yeda‘, meaning “to certify, know, make known, teach.” Yet another Hebrew variation means “knowing.”
So, was Daniel referring to the secular or the spiritual in 12:4?
Now take heed:
Since we, as a nation, have basically rejected the Word of God – written and spoken (teachings, preachings and prophesyings) – are we now facing a spiritual drought/famine as told of in Amos 8:11-12?
“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord God, ‘That I will send a famine on the land, not a famine of bread, nor of thirst for water, but of hearing the Words of the LORD. They shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east; they shall run to and fro, seeking the Word of the LORD, but shall not find it.”
You say, “What about all our churches and Christian organizations and denominations?” Good question. “Are they in Christ or in the world? Do they teach, let alone live Christian doctrine?” Well, what about what Paul wrote: “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have ITCHING ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables” (2 Timothy 4:2-4, NKJV). If you are a Bible reader or a sermon listener, you know there are dozens of such texts as these above. Warnings after warnings are found in the Scriptures about teachers/preachers/prophets being fakes, flakes, and snakes. Today the Church is overrun with FAKES! Money lusting and worldly teaching is perverting the Word. Paul tells us, “Those who are sinning REBUKE!” (1 Timothy 5:20).
Just try rebuking the fakes in today’s sin-loving/world-loving Church! You’ll find yourself without a job, or worse, you’ll find a Big Fat Lawsuit against you.
Paul instructs his disciple, Timothy, to “be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity … give attention to reading (O.T. scrolls), to exhortation, to doctrine” (1 Timothy 4:12-13). He goes on to write, “…give yourself entirely to them … take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them…” (vv. 12-16).
Paul begins chapter 4 with, “Now the Spirit expressly (lit., explicitly) says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to DECEIVING SPIRITS AND DOCTRINES OF DEMONS” (4:1).
This and dozens of other texts WARN us of becoming lukewarm, aka, pukewarm, thus losing our love for Christ and the Word of God. Will we, as Amos 8:12 says, “run to and fro, seeking the Word of the LORD, but shall NOT FIND IT”?
Our Old Testament brother and prophet wrote a similar thing: “They (Ephraim and Israel) do not direct their deeds toward turning to their God, for the spirit of harlotry is in their midst, and they do not know the LORD” (Hosea 5:4). Isn’t new Israel, that is, the New Testament Church, guilty of such harlotry? I’ve had “Christians” curse me, threaten me when I used the words “Glorified Whorehouse!” when speaking and writing about the modern, compromising Church. Am I wrong in saying this?
Hosea continues: “The pride (hubris) of Israel testifies to his face” (v. 5). In verse 7 he writes, “They have dealt treacherously with the LORD, for they have begotten pagan children.” Take a good look at today’s “Christian” children – PAGAN and HELL ITSELF (with some exceptions). In verse 6 Hosea wrote, “…they shall go and seek the LORD, but they will not find Him; He has withdrawn Himself from them.”
Solomon writes, “…fools hate (Godly) knowledge” (Proverbs 1:22). He continues to say what the Spirit of the LORD is showing him and speaking through him: “Turn at My rebuke … I will make My Words known (remember those Hebrew definitions?) to you. Because I have called and you refused … because you have disdained all my counsel … I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes … and your destruction comes … when distress and anguish come upon you. Then they will call on Me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently, but they will not find Me. Because (note the following:) they HATED KNOWLEDGE and did not choose the fear of the LORD, they would have none of my counsel and despised My every rebuke. Therefore, they shall not eat the fruit of their own way…” (vv. 23-31). Solomon uses the phrase “fools HATE knowledge” in 1:22, 29.
