The Spirit of God spoke to my wife and me back in the late 1990’s (a prophetic Word) that a great split/divide was coming to America. I have shared this particular Word (called the “Ship-rock Word”, for it was given to us at Ship-rock, NM on the Navajo Reservation December 22, 1998. This Word said that the people of this nation- USA- would be divided, politically/families divided, hearts would become extremely cold towards one another.
I always recall what Jesus told the unbelieving and hateful Pharisees: “Every Kingdom DIVIDED against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house DIVIDED against itself will not stand,” (Matthew 12:25). (“Divided:” Greek, Merizo= “to part, i.e. (lit) to apportion, to disunite, differ.”)
We might recall Abraham Lincoln’s famous speech (June 16, 1858 after he was nominated Republican candidate for US Senate) called, “House Divided.” This speech regarded slavery. Lincoln was a believer so he used this Matthew 12:25 text (as a metaphor), I quote, “So it would strike home to the minds of men in order to rouse them to the PERIL of the times.”
I’ve been hearing that a second Civil War could occur. This is how divided we’ve become. There is no love (what the Ship-rock Word said) between GOP and Democrats. The nation is DIVIDED to the point of WAR! I know the Spirit had given us a Word some years before this Word that blood would run deep in the streets of America (future tense). It would not surprise me at all to see this come soon.
Of course Jesus wants a Unified House. A house Undivided will stand. But, as it stands there are two houses divided: the Saved and Unsaved. This is the big picture. But in both houses there are factions, splits, divisions that threaten their existence.
Jesus uses the Word ONE (not in math) often in His speeches. Jesus says in John 10:16 that there will be ONE flock, not two, meaning others sheep will be brought into the Jewish fold – Gentiles. In John 10:30 Jesus says, “I and My Father are ONE.” He says in 17:11 concerning those the Father had given Him, “that they may be ONE as We are.” He continues with, “that they all may be ONE, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be ONE in US…” (John 17:21). He uses the word ONE in v.22, and 23. The Greek word heis can mean numeral – “one”- or “unity” i.e.,”oneness,” “together.”
Jesus, in John 17:24 says, “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave me may be (one, implied) with me where I am…” Where was Jesus? He lived in unity/oneness/agreement with His Father, not divided. Personally I can’t see how America will ever be “ONE nation under God” when democrats want “one nation under god.”
Paul wrote, “… you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,” (Ephesians 2:19). Those converts out of paganism became members of a new house hold, making up a Holy Temple (v. 21,22). He puts it another way: ONE temple, ONE Body but many members. (see 1 Corinthians 12:12,18,20; Ephesians 4:25; 5:30).
I think you get the word picture of what it means to be ONE/UNITED.
Imagine! Imagine America being ONE! What power! This nation, as I write, is on the verge of ruination. With democrats in control of the oval office, & Senate, America is now a 3rd world nation. With all the PC- democracy propaganda being spouted by the left wing media, this does not change the fact that America has fallen from grace and has become a disgrace to the whole human race!
And, lest you think I’m being unfair, the Church has failed BIG TIME- it has left off following the LORD/Lord and being led by the Holy Spirit, has sucked after the world, followed lords and losers which they themselves are being led by evil spirits.
Paul plead with the Ephesians, “I, therefore… beseech you to WALK WORTHY of the calling with which you were called,” (Ephesians 4:1). He goes on to write, “with all lowliness (humility) and gentleness, with long suffering, bearing with one another in love,” (v2). Well, we know this is not the fact. We’ve had denominational wars for several centuries now. Character assassins, aka ministers of the Gospel (gossip!) are like their worldly counter parts, the politicians. I wish I didn’t have to say this.
Now to my point (apropos) and Paul’s point, “endeavoring (i.e. striving) to keep the UNITY of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is ONE body and ONE Spirit… ONE Lord, ONE faith, ONE baptism; ONE God and Father of all…” (v. 3-6).
Got that?
ONE!
Biblically speaking these are called the “Unities.”
Unless a miracle happens (I do believe in them!!), we will see this nation get worse. Heightened tensions are up because of the mid-term elections. The democrats and GOP are ready for all-out warfare (take it anyway you like). All the democratic party/left/liberals can talk about is Donald Trump, hardly ever addressing the corruption of the prez’s son, Hunter, who is eyeball deep in $$ scams with Red China/Russian and drugs/prostitutes, while his daddy, Joe, winks and smiles while being paid millions as well. The whole Biden family is criminal according to those watch dogs who have the facts; the very facts the liberal, left-wing media refuses to report. This is Amerika!
Have you ever read Psalms 133:1? “How good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in UNITY!” David compares it to precious oil, like the dew of Hermon… the Lord’s blessing. Good oil (ancient days) released a fragrance and dew brings moisture to dry places. “Unity” has good and pleasant effects. We certainly could use some unity/oneness today.
In case you ladies think the Bible is bias – male only- Psalms 133:1 uses “brothers” only. Well, in Biblical Hebrew this word includes both male and female (I did a research study on male and female – man/woman – brothers/ sisters, members of a group UNITED by blood relationships or by shared experiences and values. In this Psalms, the term could be applied appropriately to Israel. The term man/male is used in the same manner. Man: Hebrew, Adam, as used in Genesis: “Then God said: ‘Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…” (Genesis 1:26). The word “man” here means “a human being (an individual or the species, mankind/humankind, a person or persons, male/female.” Now another Hebrew Word is iysh = “a man (male sex), a person” as in Genesis 2:23; “… she (female) shall be called woman (Heb. Ishshah), because she was taken out of man (Ish).” So man can be used to describe a male or both male and female. There is a play on the similar- sounding Hebrew Words ishsha (“woman”/“wife”) and ish (“man”/“husband”). Genesis 2:24 brings us to the lesson of ONE: “That is why a man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife, and the TWO of them become ONE body,” (v. 24). One body or One flesh = the covenant of marriage establishes kinship bonds of the first ranks between partners. Please take note; there is no 3rd sex, e.g. transgender! You are either male or female period.
The Greek word for “man” has several meanings: “man shall not live by bread alone,” (Matthew 4:4) = Ops = “a human being”; “no man can serve two masters,” (Matthew 6:24) – oudemia form oude = “neither, man, woman;” “Except a man be born again…” (John 3:3) = tis = “some or any person, somebody (i.e. man or woman),” 22:18 = pas = “all, any, every, the whole (male/ female), whosoever.”
So you see, ladies, God has not left you out.
God has called both man/woman, boy/girl, male/female, husband/wife to be in His ONE body of Christ, aka Ekklesia (Greek). The “Church” is not some physical structure but a group of people called “believers”/“Christians”/“saints”/ “assembly.” We are called to be part of His chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a special possession, as Peter wrote in 1 Peter 2:9. (see Exodus 19:5,6). Peter uses “one another” phrases to emphasize how we should relate to each other. 1st Pet. 4:8-11 states that we should “love one another (deeply),” (v.8), “offer hospitality to one another,” (v. 10, 11).
So, what do you think? Do we see this in today’s Churches? Some, yes. Personally I do not believe the world nor the Church will reach their potential because man/woman is too selfish. We can read what is the END/FINAL OUTCOME of humanity. Those who reject Christ will be eternally separated from the Life and Love of Christ; those who play “Church” will also be separated from His true Church, what did Jesus say of the religious Pharisees and scribes? “How can you escape the damnation of HELL?” (Matthew 23:33).
