The WAR between “light” and “darkness” is as old as mankind; the divine creative principle is recorded in Genesis (1) where “darkness” was over the surface of the deep…” (v.2). But this was about to change: “God said, ‘Let there be LIGHT,’ and there was light” (v.3). Verse 4 tells it all: “God saw that the light was GOOD, and God separated the light from the darkness…” Of course this light/darkness was natural, but the principle goes deeper into the spiritual.
“God is Light” says 1 John 1:5; “I am the Light” says Jesus in John 8:12; “Walk as children of light” Ephesians 5:8 tells us; Jesus says “This is the verdict, that light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were (are) evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his (her) deeds should be exposed. But he (she) who does the truth comes to the light, that it may be revealed that his (her) deeds have been done in God” (John 3:19-21), hence, the exacerbation on earth and in the invisible realm.
“Light”: Greek – “Phos” = “to shine (by rays), luminous, fire; from “phemi” = “to show or make known one’s thoughts (God is “all-knowing”).”
Every time Israel spiraled into darkness, judgment/punishment followed: Backsliding was a precursor to punishment. When any nation or individual collapses it is the result of turning away from morality/spirituality. When a culture spirals out of CONTROL, when restraints are removed, when evil become good, when sinful things are honored/celebrated, a culture/nation/individuals desintigrates.
Can we not see the “signs” of the “times?” Cultures/nations/individuals are unraveling at an alarming rate. America now prides itself in the ungodly. We hear so many saying, “I’m PAGAN!”
The loss of godly direction/living is really sad. I’ve seen America slip into such DARKNESS over my 48 ½ years of service. Sacredness of love/marriage is all but gone. Explosion of filth is covering the land. The MF/F words are now common place in print/public, these words are epidemic now among children. The redefining of “gender” – am I male or female – is epidemic. If one dares to call this confusion (let alone, “abomination”) one is labeled transphobic/homophobic/bigoted etc. Darkness is covering the land. Time to put on the uniform of Light! (1 Thessalonians 5:5).
